Online dog and cat registration is now available for those living in unincorporated Galveston county, Bayou Vista, Clear Lake Shores, Dickinson, Hitchcock, Kemah, La Marque, Santa Fe, Texas City and Tiki Island. Defensive Driving Course
AARP is offering a Defensive Driving Course for all interested drivers on Monday, June 10, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Joe Faggard Community Center. ESD passes
Voters approved the creation of Galveston County Emergency Services District (ESD) #2 on Saturday by a wide margin. The final vote count was 202 for, 39 against. The ESD will provide necessary funding to support emergency medical and fire protection services on the peninsula. Commissioners will be appointed in the next few weeks.

Town Hall meeting with CC Dennard
On April 23, County Commissioner Ryan Dennard held a Town Hall meeting to review what is going on in Galveston County government relating to issues on Bolivar, and get feedback from residents on those issues. Pearl Beach BBQ Cookoff a huge success
When Pearl Beach residents Don and Tanna Kimbro attended a charity cookoff in a neighboring subdivision some months ago, they said, “we need to do this!”. And they did. They roared into town Friday night in preparation for their 6th Annual Go Topless Day! This past Saturday, 85 jeeps gathered together for their picture. Jeep clubs from all over Texas participated in the weekend event. Also present on the beach, from San Antonio, were “Wheelers for The Wounded”, an organization existing solely to express thanks and gratitude to those service members,
