Riley Emick, 24, of Pearland TX, was wade fishing at Rollover Pass, near Gilchrist TX, around 8:30am Tuesday morning when he suddenly was caught up in a strong tidal current in the surf.

The Kona Kai Annual Fishing Tournament is held every year in July for Kona Kai residents and guests. This year was a great success with over 150 entries. Awards are given for First, Second, and Third place for almost every species of fish in our bay system. Kona Kai would like to thank all the local businesses and friends who help make this tournament the great success it is.
The room I chose this week highlights two ways to make your beach bedroom have that extra layer of charm and to also highlight a different way of lighting. Notice the stripes on the walls of this room. It looks like two different colors, but you can get the same look by painting your room one solid color and after the paint dries use painters tape to create your stripes whatever width you want. Lucy Gonzales will be leaving the Chamber of Commerce the end of July to be a stay at home Mom to her son, Lance, and his new brother, who will be joining the Gonzales family in October.

The 2nd Annual Golf Fundraiser will be held on July 28 at the Crystal Beach Community Golf Course. The proceeds will go directly towards the operation of the golf course for the upcoming year.
