Riley Emick, 24, of Pearland TX, was wade fishing at Rollover Pass, near Gilchrist TX, around 8:30am Tuesday morning when he suddenly was caught up in a strong tidal current in the surf.

The 2nd Annual Golf Fundraiser for the Crystal Beach Community Golf Course was held this weekend and everyone had a great time. The Kona Kai Annual Fishing Tournament is held every year in July for Kona Kai residents and guests. This year was a great success with over 150 entries. Awards are given for First, Second, and Third place for almost every species of fish in our bay system. Kona Kai would like to thank all the local businesses and friends who help make this tournament the great success it is.

Like most people who vacation at the beach, we discussed eventually living by the sea.
After 15 years of vacationing at Surfside, someone mentioned Crystal Beach so we had to locate Crystal Beach on a map and plan a trip there. A short ferry ride from Galveston and we found our version of paradise.
We are having our annual Vacation Bible School beginning Saturday July 21st. Sunday through Wednesday will begin at 5:30 pm. Our “BACKSTAGE with the BIBLE” will be a fun learning experience for all!! We will also be hosting an adult Bible study at the same time and ALL are welcome and encouraged to come join the festivities.
