Tough Pin Placements Frustrate Hacking Golfers

golf_0422By Mike VanZandt
Head golf pro Mike Mitchell reset the pins and tee boxes on the Gold Par 3 Course for Tuesdays contest amidst much grumbling from the contestants. Of course, everyone plays the same course so there is no fairness issue, but golfers like to score well and no one got close to par in the swirling winds at the Ranch. Shannon O’Brien, Dabney Harrison and Mike VanZandt tied for first place with awful 7 over par 34’s with the Dabtician notching a skin on the super tough 8th hole and VanZandt making a rare putt for a birdie skin on the 5th. The scores for the other participants exceeded the 9 shot over par limit for reporting thus their results are withheld to prevent them from public humiliation.

The Crab Fest Tournament is set for Saturday, May 3rd with the Calcutta set for May 2rd at the Tiki Bar and Grill. Everyone in the community is invited to both the tournament and the Calcutta. Bring yourself and your purse to the Tiki Bar to buy a team in the Calcutta auction on Friday night and your lawn chair and a cooler to watch the golf on Saturday. (04-16-2014)
