Senior, disabled persons and disabled vets, along with those participating in disaster installments need to be aware that the third payment is due by Monday, June 2nd in order to avoid hefty penalty and interest charges (6% penalty and 1% interest). The fourth and final installment will be due by Thursday July 31st so mark your calendars now!

Payment may be made in person at the Galveston, League City, Santa Fe, and Texas City branches of the Tax Office weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friendswood City Hall on Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except for one hour from Noon to 1:00 p.m.) and the Crystal Beach office which is open the third Tuesday of each month from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.(except for one hour from Noon to 1:00 p.m.). Payments may also be deposited in drop boxes located at most locations or paid on-line using e-check or credit card. Visit our website at www.galcotax.com and click on the red database button to access your account.

Only 15,200 notices on unpaid tax accounts were mailed this week, down nearly 2,000 over last year. Those unable to pay off balances have until the end of June to apply for a monthly payment agreement, thus avoiding additional fees of up to 20% that will be added to accounts Friday July 1.
