Rollover Pass Report, Aug-24 thru Aug-30, 2015

By Ed Snyder/Outdoors
Good clear tides last week drew the trout in mainly on the gulf side, but eventually fizzled down to slow and slower action. Lots of bait-fish coming in with shrimp going out on the tides. Flounder maintained a good bite on the bay-side with bay-waders doing very well on the flatfish. Croaker bite slowed somewhat but should pick back up this week. Skip-jacks dominated the bite on both sides of the pass with drum and whiting filling in. Night-shift was hit or miss; surf-waders did fair to good early; surf-rodders still catching shark and reds.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Yesterday a group of volunteers gave up their weekend to clean up the Gilchrist and Rollover Pass Area so that you visitors could enjoy an uncluttered and clean fishing area. WELL, THAT was undone by some IDIOTS who decided to TRASH ROLLOVER AGAIN OVERNIGHT. SO, the GCA is going to do something about this problem. A meeting will be held on September 14 to organize a group who will punish those who like to TRASH-UP the pass simply because that’s all they know is TRASHING!! For those of you visitors who spend time cleaning up their area THANK YOU!! but for those of you who enjoy trashing your area with broken bottles, dirty baby diapers, and other stinky waste, WATCH OUT!! Because you’ll be targeted by the GCA for losing your fishing privileges here at ROLLOVER PASS!!! WE DON’T NEED TRASHY PEOPLE!!!
