Breathing a sigh of relief lately

Maybe, I bit off more than I could chew this year with the Crab Festival. I took on the Beer Booth for the 3rd year in a row, but, in addition, I decided I could handle the Vendors at the same time. Thank goodness, the Beer Booth just fell into place as it always has. It’s a Bolivar Peninsula Lions Club affair and those Lions sure know how to step up to bat! No worries, except that we will be serving two new items in addition to beer and wine – just adding a few more people in the booth – no worries. We’re enlarging the booth and hopefully, we won’t be stepping on each other.

As I began this story, I am actually breathing a sigh of relief. I’m able to answer my vendor requests with “We’re at capacity,” which means a lot shorter email and a lot less follow up. The screening process is the hardest and placing the vendors properly is tedious. After all, you can’t have all the hamburgers next to each other, can you?

So, just a while ago, I made my husband take a short break just to do some deck sitting – something we don’t have a lot of time to do lately. I confessed to him that I wouldn’t mind taking on the vendors again next year … Not listening, as usual, he immediately jumped up, said he had to take a picture for some article he’s posting on the CrystalBeachLocalNews tomorrow … That’s how our Monday evenings go.

We have a little cartoon clip on our refrigerator. He says, “I forgot what I was going to say.” She said, “What difference does is make? I wouldn’t remember it anyway.”

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
