Congrats Chicago!

I wouldn’t exactly consider myself an avid sports fan. I tolerate golf being on the TV all weekend, and I enjoy the noise of football going on, but to actually sit in front of the TV watching football makes me so nervous. I do a lot of yelling at the players. I am, on the other hand, hooked on baseball. I think I always have been, especially when the World Series is being played. I remember, back when I was a kid, the Yankees were always in the Series.

This year, with the Cubs and the Indians, I was on the edge of my seat. I didn’t know any of these guys, but man did I get swept up in the excitement. Just when we thought the Cubs were at the end of the road with 3 losses, they came back to win all the remaining games. And that pitcher, Kyle Hendricks, clean shaven young man, wow, his Mom must be proud! He walked one batter and I’ll be darned if the coach didn’t pull him to put in another pitcher. Then, we had to sweat all those pitchers it took to get us to the tie in the 9th inning.

Not knowing how long it would take, we turned in when they decided they had to cover the field to keep it dry. It’s all good, to find out the next morning the Cubs had indeed won. First time in 108 years – Congrats Chicago!
