Galveston County is proud to announce the hiring of a new Director for the Galveston County Museum. After interviewing several well qualified candidates, Jennifer Wycoff of League City was hired to lead the County Museum. Jennifer’s experience with fundraising, sponsorships and special events made her stand out from the rest of the crowd of candidates. “I am confident she will be able to take the Museum to new heights,” said County Judge Mark Henry. “The search has been a long process, but she had an impressive resume that we could not pass on.”

She has served as the director for West Bay Common School & Children’s Museum, and also served as the director for Butler Longhorn Museum where she helped raise funds to build the institution. “She has a strong passion for education, history and its preservation for future generations,” said Julie Diaz, Galveston County Director of Parks and Cultural Services.

The Galveston County Museum has moved to the Courthouse located at 722 Moody Avenue in Galveston within the former Jury Assembly room. With renovations of the assembly room set to begin soon, the exhibits and artifacts will once again be on display for the public to enjoy.

Jennifer will begin with the county on Monday, June 29th.
