In less than 24 hours, the boy, his brother, a border agent and a transportation bus disappear. Because of the young boys odd behavior, Dr. Jake Phillips has been trying to keep an eye on him. When the boy disappears, Dr. Phillips tries to locate him. The chase to find the boy leads across Texas and cross country into South Carolina. The twisting story leads our hero, heroes, through a convoluted plot of kidnapping, murder and destruction.

About the Author
“[I was] born in Beaumont, Texas, moved to Houston at age five, then at age ten my family was transferred to St.Louis, Missouri where I graduated.

I never lost my Texas roots as I spent every summer of my life with my grandparents either in Beaumont, usually on the peninsula, or in West Texas. My mother’s parents built a home in Gilchrist in 1950 and it was lost in Hurricane Ike. When I moved back to Texas in 2005, I bought a house in Crystal Beach and live here permanently.

I have traveled the world in the oil industry, living in England the Middle East and the Far East. My vacation time was spent in Europe and visiting family in the US. I taught English in the California school system for a number of years before doing work on a grant involving the Youth Authority.

I have two wonderful sons, five terrific grandchildren and a daughter-in-law that most moms can only dream of having. I still travel, but by car, seeing things in the US from ground level and taking the back roads.”
