Go Ahead and Be Blue

Blues, Blues, and More Blues
One of my favorite things in decorating for the beach is the personality of the owner can really shine through! This dining room reflects the colors and style of beach living. The table and chairs are not matchy, matchy! To me this is a very good thing! Use your imagination! Note in this room, the table is white and any color chairs will go with this. The blue on the chairs and the blue on the sideboard are not the same color, but do complement each other. CS_2014-0923-1Using a short pile or sisal rug helps center the dining area and makes vacuuming the perpetual sand easier. Investing in a Roomba has really helped me. It does the job while I sleep! You can’t get better than that! Remember, be creative, almost nothing you do is WRONG! It is your home enjoy it!

HOW TO: Re-Purpose and Re-Use

I fell in love with this idea! Several of us may have an old wooden ladder sitting in the back of a garage. Covered with paint and past projects just add to the charm. If not several “junk” shops may have one! I love the hunt. If you have a dead corner in you home, this is a great and useful answer! CS_2014-0923-2All you need to do is to remove the brackets that would keep this ladder from opening. This will allow you to open it up fully and to attach it to the wall. The best way to do this is to use L brackets, so you can attach the bracket to the wall. Use Molly bolts if needed and then attach the other side directly to the ladder. I would suggest you paint the brackets the same color of the wall. Once it is mounted, just add your books and wait for the comments! You will have something most people would never think of! Enjoy and remember to smile and bring Sunshine into someone’s life!
