I’m Back!

I had to get my head on straight for a week or two.
As you know we have been scanning 51 years of pictures. While doing his job of scanning, RR said, “I want to send these pictures to Denise as they are of her Dad and Mom during their time in Seabrook Shipyard and all our adventures together.” So I called Denise and she happened to be with her Dad at the nursing home and they both were very excited to have the memories mailed to them. You see, Dick & Tomi became part of our family for 20 years, they adopted our kids and were with us for all holidays, wedding, and so on. So I started sending 25 to 30 pictures as RR finished them. Denise took them to her Dad, and Dick would tell her stories about the pictures and smile all the way through pictures.

Rene’, our youngest daughter, was Dick’s second daughter, they were inseparable when she was at the boat. Adventures in the dingy around Seabrook, shooting stars at night with a Real Sexton and climbing fences just to see if they could. When she found out Uncle Dick was still with us she called him and they had a long and teary visit on the phone. Dick went to be with his beloved Tomi just a few weeks later. Denise and Rene’ have new memories to share.

A few weeks before this, another dear friend went to lead the choir in Heaven. I had told his wife I would love to take them to the airport when they left, she said OK and thank you. Unbeknownst to them, I had just had RR in the hospital, but I was not going to miss saying good bye to friends. So, friends came to stay with RR, and I was able to be with John on his last day in Texas. ts the airport I gave him a soft but big hug and said God and Peace be with You. And, they are. Love you John.

As Georgia said last week, take an extra minute to love two or three times harder. Never ever leave for the day without hugs and kisses.
