Life is a Rollercoaster

Sometimes I wish it was only a ferris wheel. I do love a ferris wheel. Last week was a very eventful week. The twins, who weren’t supposed to be born until this Wednesday, got bumped up a week. Last Wednesday, we witnessed the arrival of our 7th and 8th grandkids, who join their 3 year old Big Brother. Three of the cutest little guys IN THE WORLD!! They were big for twins, but we should’ve expected that – they’re little bitty Mom was as uncomfortable as she could be, and the grands just run big in our family anyway.

GO_0411-1They’re home now and we expect to get over there to see them tonight or tomorrow. It’s kind of like Grand Central Station we hear, I’m sure our Son is coping and our daughter-in-law is in Heaven with all the company. I jumped on the Food Train and signed up to bring over dinners, and hit the Nothing But Bundt store for a dozen Bundtinis. My son said they’re overwhelmed with all the food in the house!

From one extreme to the other – this weekend, our oldest granddaughter brought a few of her friends down for the weekend. What a treat to have this lively gang around for a few nights! Scary stories around the bonfire, hotdogs and s’mores, and a few fireworks.

This is what life is all about for us old beach bums. Come on y’all, this is the reason we live here. Gotta get another crib I guess – I think it’s time to enlarge the house again. (Sorry Honey)

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you. Email: [email protected]
