Patton Cemetery Cleanup

The Patton Cemetery is a pioneer cemetery located in Crystal Beach, on Bobs Road, behind the Fun Spot Waterslide. There are six people buried in the cemetery with burial dates from 1847 – 1913. Currently, the cemetery is completely overgrown, however, some of the grave markers are still in place. This Saturday, March 2, volunteers are getting together to clean up and restore the cemetery. This clean up started as an Extreme Makeover Project sponsored by Leadership Southeast Texas (LSET), a non-profit organization dedicated to economic development in the nine county area of SE Texas. LSET volunteers will be joined by members of the Bolivar Peninsula Lions Club, as well as other peninsula residents. All are welcome, and if you would like to join in on the clean up, please show up at the waterslide parking lot (2061 Hwy 87) at 9:00 on Saturday morning. Drinks will be provided, and a gumbo lunch will be served. If you have any questions, please contact Tom Osten at 281-773-3044.
