Phone Day

This world for our children is so busy. Our babies have grown and almost grown babies of their own. With school starting and school activities starting it has always been difficult to hear our children’s voices. Our youngest daughter knows her Mom is an early riser, so we chat in the morning on her way to work, sometimes that could be 6 am, and we are fine with this time. Of course, RR gets left out “when is Daddy time?” He is OK, just wanted to let us know he counts too. When he is up we use the speaker part of the phone. Big smile on his face.

Now to our first born daughter, have you noticed I never call her “the oldest?” I am smarter that your average bear, you know, as in Momma Bear. Anyway, she has two of three children at home. Her first-born has flown the coop. Em, the middle child, is starting her junior year at U of H and of course, there is THE BOY! MAS, he will be starting the first year of middle school, I think that is 8th grade? Our First Born is also just starting her second year of a new marriage, and a new job in the medical center.

Where I am going with this – First Born is very busy. We decided not too long ago to have Wednesday be Momma, Daddy Call Night. When she leaves the parking garage, we get a call and chat with her all the way home. Sometimes this is a 30 minute call, or up to a hour if there happens to be a wreck on 288. Several times we have suggested maybe we should hang-up, but so far we haven’t. This started the first of summer and all three of us are really enjoying the time. MAS is now starting football training and we will be heading for Pearland on Thursdays very soon.

My point to this is – Where There is a Way, There Will be a Will. RR and I love hearing their voices. This next generation and the one after that (Grandchildren) have no clue what we are talking about. “Mom, a text is communication?” Not for us old people. See what works for you and your family. We old people so love to hear their voices.

Have a great week, Peace.
