Plans for Texas Frog Fest well underway

By Brenda Cannon Henley
Excitement is in the air about the soon coming Texas Frog Fest on the Bolivar Peninsula. March 8 and 9, 2014 is going to be a spring break weekend long to be remembered. Meetings, planning, ordering, confirming, testing, and new ideas are being put into practice to make certain that this event meets all expectations from the entertainers performing on the big stage to each guest that attends.

Local officials in Galveston and Jefferson Counties are on board and are helping to make certain each safety concern is addressed properly. “The safety of all of our guests has been a priority throughout our planning,” said Brian Byrom, of BRINT Construction. “We want everyone that is involved to be comfortable, safe, and have a lot of fun. We are excited about the program, the participants, and our partners that are working to make it a huge success.”

All benefits from the Festival will go directly to the Lone Survivor Foundation and Terry Jung, executive director of the Foundation, is on board and very excited about this big event and the new retreat facility to be built on the Bolivar Peninsula. BRINT Construction has partnered with the Lone Survivor Foundation to make this wonderful dream a reality. Groundbreaking is set for April. (For full details, see “Growing interest in Lone Survivor Foundation Retreat Facility on the Bolivar Peninsula“, CBLN, 2014-02-04).

Hello, stopped at The Big Store an was told it would be close to the new school ( I think the one built after Ike) that is on concrete piles. Beach side of Highway 87. Should not be hard to find, see ya there.

  2. Lisa says:

What neighborhoods is that address close to?

  3. Don says:

It says in Crystal Beach. Where is it to be at?

    • Brenda Cannon Henley says:

Hi Don – Sorry I am just now seeing your question.

The address is 200 Highway 87 in Crystal Beach. It is a huge vacant area that runs from Highway 87 through to the beach and is owned by BRINT Construction. It is presently being fenced off to assure safe and convenient parking and plenty of room for the big stage, some VIP seating, and the entertainers.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase inside the area and guests are asked to bring chairs or blankets for their families.

Tickets are $25 per day pre-sale and $30 at the gate. A two-day pass is available for $40 per person. There is a host of entertainers and all profits go the help fund the Lone Survivor Foundation and the retreat center (to be built on Bolivar) for veterans.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to write again.
