Rollover Pass Report, May 25 thru May 31, 2015

By Ed Snyder/Outdoors
This past week provided excellent speckled trout action for surf and cut anglers. One speck put Rollover on the tournament map with a 28.4inch by 8.5 lb speck being the first trout weigh-in for the CCA Star event. It’s angler could win a $30-thousand dollar boat if it holds for overall. This was mostly a trout week, but other species such as flounder, drum, reds, gafftop, and sheepshead also made the angler creels.

My buddy and I plan to go to rollover pass on Saturday afternoon the 6th. What should we expect for that afternoon of fishing? We hope to catch something we can take home to eat.

Hi my family and I are planning to fish the surf near rollover pass this Saturday 6-6-15. The high tide is suppose to be at 1:39pm with that said, what time do you recommend that we get there and start fishing? I would greatly appreciate any help, thanks!

I will be out there Saturday as well, as long as we have a light northwind to lay the surf down. I am going to start fishing right at sunrise. I use topwater (skitterwalks, superspooks, etc). As long as the bait is there you can easily catch a limit on topwaters first thing in the morning.
