Rollover Pass Report, Nov-16 thru Nov-22, 2015

By Ed Snyder/Outdoors
Thursday November 26th Thanksgiving Day – There will be NO collections at Rollover Pass. Happy Thanksgiving from the Gilchrist Community Association.
This past week had its ups and downs with the flounder run, BUT a 27 inch by Ten Pound saddle blanket flounder topped the leaderboard. It’ll be TUFF to best that catch. Redfish were abundant with slot and bulls making anglers catches. Croaker were off, this years croaker run was a fizzle for the most, part but we did have a 17 and an 18 incher landed. This present cold front now blowing through the cut will either push the big females out -OR- keep them in where they’ll ingest their eggs. Trout of the speck species are still here and come out every now and then to let us know, but the sandies and silvers did not swarm this season; don’t know why. Surf action for reds is good and bay waders are still tethering flounder. Night-shift is strictly hit or miss, and the dolphin are gathering at the mouth of the pass waiting for the flounder run. We hope this happens soon -or- there is something wrong!
