Shrimping season is open again! Which brings to mind all those shrimp boat pictures I used to have lining the stairs of the beach house. I even had some pictures from Alaska, Louisiana and Morro Bay in California. Long gone, I had been collecting them for years! Yep, those inside stairs of the old beach house were washed away with Ike. In honor of shrimp season, let me share a fantastic recipe with you. It’s actually my mother-in-law’s, but she would love for you all to enjoy it too.
Mama’s Shrimp Dip
3 lbs shelled shrimp, cooked in a bit of crab boil, cut into bite-size pieces
1 jar freeze dried chives (Kroger in the produce dept.)
1 jar freeze dried parsley (also at Kroger)
1/2 jar horseradish mustard
1 qt mayonnaise
juice of 1 lemon
1 Tablespoon onion salt
Mix all together, refrigerate, best if eaten the next day. By the way, this will serve a large group!
