All Lit Up

Everyone is feeling the spirit of the season as seen by all the lights twinkling and festive decorations around the peninsula. The Chamber of Commerce sponsored the annual Home and Business Christmas Lighting Contest in conjunction with the Crystaland Parade. Judges drove around last week to see all the entries and find the winners. The decision was difficult as so many homes and businesses brought smiles and happiness to the judges, and neighbors alike.

In the Residential category, the Bouse home in Port Bolivar took first place again this year. Lighting contest newcomers Dennis and Elaine Rollfing went all out, securing second place. And third place was awarded to the Ewing residence. The overwhelming choice for first place in the business lighting went to Ritas & Cream. The perennial favorite ReMAX took second place, and Texas Custom Carts claimed third place.

Not only is this a fun activity for neighbors and visitors to see, it also brings holiday cheer to everyone passing by. A little holiday spirit goes a long way. The season isn’t over yet, but we’re looking forward to next year. The Chamber encourages all home and business owners to participate in this free entry festivity.

Merry Christmas!
