Bake Sale Extraordinaire!

By Linda Elissalde
The folk who baked for the Bay Vue United Methodist Church (UMC) United Methodist Women’s (UMW) Bake Sale would have won first place in any TV Cooking Contest. Buyers were lined up in Bay Vue’s parking lot before the Saturday 10:00 AM opening. They quickly snapped up succulent cakes, pies, muffins, candy and cookies. The Bake Sale was over before noon closing time.

This Bake Sale provided goodies for patrons desiring delicious homemade treats. Proceeds go for UMW’s many outreach programs. These include blankets, foods, and care bags for those at Shriner and UTMB Medical Facilities. Ladies also help out at Crenshaw School and wherever needs arrive in our community. They are true Angels of Mercy.

The Bake Sale garnered around $2300. Those are really “sweet” profits. It was definitely a BAKE SALE EXTRAORDINAIRE!
