Bay Vue United Methodist Church celebrated The Fourth of July on Sunday, July 2, 2017. The sanctuary and Fellowship Hall were festooned in red, white and blue. Choir members dressed up in the national colors as well. The service honored America’s 241st birthday declaration of independence. Pastor Valerie Hudson delivered an inspiring message, and the choir led the congregation in lusty renditions of America, America the Beautiful, God Bless America and other hymns of praise. Members and guests retired to Fellowship Hall to enjoy a meal of fried chicken, ham sandwiches, pimento cheese, baked beans, potato salad, toasted bread, and multiple sweets. Again, red, white and blue themes dominated scrumptious dips and desserts. Everyone shared high spirits and happiness even without fireworks. They will save that pleasure for the real Fourth of July!
