Bay Vue UMC Welcomes new Pastor

Bay Vue UMC welcomed their new pastor Valerie Hudson Sunday, July 5, 2015. Valerie will also serve as pastor to St. Matthews in High Island and First Methodist in Port Bolivar. Pastor Valerie comes to the peninsula after serving 4 years at Lake Palestine UMC. Before that she served 7 years at Bellaire UMC and 1 year in the home church of her youth at Angleton First UMC. Valerie was active as a lay person in many different ministries before she began her pastoral ministry. Her church interests include music, evangelism, worship and The Walk to Emaus. Pastor Hudson attended Southwest Texas State University and Perkins School of Theology at SMU. That is where she received her license as a United Methodist Local Pastor.

Ms. Hudson is a third generation Methodist musician and a sixth generation Texan. Her daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Michael Hutchinson, and precious 5 month old grandson Isaac, live in Houston. Her parents, brother, sister and their families live in Huntsville, Houston, and Austin. They all love vacationing together at the beach. Pastor enjoys traveling, reading, genealogy, history and movies. Rev. Hudson stated that she looks forward to getting to know her congregations and serving Christ in this community.
