Bolivar Peninsula BloodShare Blood Drive very successful

By Brenda Cannon Henley
Thank you, thank you, thank you to each person who came out to the Bolivar Peninsula BloodShare Blood Drive held Sat., June 22, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Port Bolivar. LifeShare Blood Center out of Beaumont was thrilled with our turn out, the number certified to give, and the number of blood donors who were there to give their blood for the first time.

We even had a very special “double red” blood donor, Steve Trapman, whose blood was so rich in iron that he could give two units through an imaginative machine.

Bolivar Peninsula residents and friends were wonderful donors, great visitors, snack eaters, and lots and lots of fun. The LifeShare medical team said they’d never had so much fun conducting a drive.

Thank you sincerely to each donor who took the time to help save lives, and even if you could not give due to medical reasons or medicines, your heart for others was in the right place.

We’ll do it again in the fall.
