Clouds, wind and fog cannot stay TCFC President Tom Osten and his intrepid wife, Texas Crab Festival Committee Chairperson Georgia Osten, from promoting our community’s TEXAS CRAB FESTIVAL. Georgia and Tom stood in front of The Big Store on a wintery Gulf Coast Saturday to display the 2017 Club Car Golf Cart to be given away at the 32nd annual Festival on Mother’s Day weekend, May 12-14. The Texas Crab Festival is operated by Texas Crab Festival Charities (TCFC) whose mission is to increase educational and career opportunities for Bolivar Peninsula residents of all ages and support local organizations that further the goal of improving the lives of the residents of Bolivar Peninsula. TCFC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves to improve the lives of those who call the Bolivar Peninsula home. Since its creation four years ago, TCFC has gifted over $190,000 to help support local organizations and residents. Proceeds from the annual Texas Crab Festival—now in its 32nd year—are reinvested in the community and help to fund youth scholarships and camps, local schools and volunteer fire departments, and various outreach initiatives. So while you, your family, and friends are enjoying all the music, art and fabulous food the Texas Crab Festival has to offer, know that you are also helping to give back to our very special and unique community.
