Pumpkins Galore

Every year, the Crenshaw classes compete in the pumpkin decorating contest. This year was equally as spell-binding as the rest. With judging categories being Most Glamorous, Spookiest and Silliest, it wasn’t difficult for the judges to rate 1st, 2nd and 3rd for each category. These students really put their hearts and souls into this project. And the Overall Winner was a unanimous choice.

PBVFD Fire Poster Contest

fireposter_0On Friday October 16, the Port Bolivar Volunteer Fire Department judged the Second Annual Fire Poster Contest at Crenshaw School. There were three winners in 4 categories. First Place winners in all categories received a $25.00 Wal-Mart gift card. Second and third place winners received ribbons, and Honorable Mention received certificates. Congratulations to all the winners!

Crenshaw seeking funds for new Playground

Crenshaw School is a Pre-K to 8th grade campus. We serve about 165 students on our campus. Our school was built ten years ago prior to Hurricane Ike with only a Pre-K and Kindgarten playground. We have sports areas for our middle school students, but we do not have a playground area

New Tile Mural installed

The Crenshaw Middle School 8th Grade Class completed the design and installation of a new tile mural at the entrance to the school’s habitat. Crenshaw Staff and Mrs. Dailey would like to thank the Lion’s Club for the donation that is providing school supplies for all of our students and also for purchasing books for our Balanced Literacy Program. The Lion’s Club dedication to the students of the Bolivar Peninsula is truly inspirational and greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping better the lives of our students and for continually helping nurture their academic successes.

Cody VanZandt Double Qualifier for State Academic Contest

High Island Senior Cody VanZandt advanced to the State finals in both Number Sense and Prose Interpretation Saturday at the Region 3 UIL Tournament at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches. Cardinals Hit Regional Golf Tournament

High Island High sent eight golfers Monday to the regional Class A golf tournament in Nacogdoches at Piney Woods Country Club. The district champion Lady Cards and second place boys Cards hope to improve their scores in the two day tournament.
