Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Members

The Bolivar Peninsula Chamber of Commerce held its Annual General Membership Meeting and Election on November 6th at Jose’s Cajun Steakhouse. An excellent meal was had by all as President Brenda Flanagan highlighted all of the Chamber accomplishments for the year. Namely, hiring the new Executive Director Cathie Ropp in May. The Chamber worked closely with County, State, and Federal agencies to promote Bolivar interests including groundbreaking for the Highway 87 elevation project. And most recently, they scheduled a meeting with the US Army Corps of Engineers on December 15th to review the Coastal Barrier Plan. The Shop & Eat Local Program is an initiative to increase signage throughout the peninsula to promote local businesses. As well as Shop Hop which showcases Bolivar businesses on nationwide Small Business Saturday, November 24th. The Chamber is working to promote member engagement and retention with the Ambassador Program. And finally, the many Website upgrades include: (1) all businesses added with links to their website and social media, (2) Community Calendar in which everyone can add their events, and (3) Photo Gallery of past events to enjoy the memories of community happenings. Membership Plaques are available for all members and many thanks to all members and supporters of the Bolivar Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.
