Feeling Gamey?

Georgia's Sand BucketBy Georgia Osten
We were just sitting at the dinner table, pizza tonight, something easy. So, my grandson, the one sitting by me, says “okay, in 3 seconds Grandma is going to say Who wants to play Mexican Train?” So, timing is everything, I said, “okay has it been 3 seconds?” Well, you know, Grandma craves playing games. Especially when you have a houseful of people and it’s not even 6:30 yet and dinner’s done. One catch, on Monday nights, it’s Crystal Beach Local News night. My husband offered me the night off, that would be a week off, first week off in 11 years! Sorry, can’t do it, had to come up with something. Thanks, Michael for giving me the idea.

I’ve met my match though, I think the genes passed onto my second granddaughter, Addyson, she seems to love games as much as I do. But, heads up, she is a 14 year old teenage girl. ‘Nuff said huh?

I’m so thrilled they’re here with us, it won’t be long before they jet out to their new home in Tampa. That’s okay, at least they’ll still be in the US.

So, here we are, ready to play, where’s Dax? Oh yeah, in his hideaway fort he sets up under the stairs. He’s been doing this for years. He finds the pillows upstairs and Halloween lights from under the bed. Whenever you wonder where he is, just go look under the stairs. You don’t need to wonder when it’s time to eat though.

Okay, need to go set up for the evening! These guys don’t last too long since arriving from half-way around the world. They’re getting better. This morning, they didn’t get up before 7, finally adapting to our time zone. Wish me luck, we’ve got some really competitive players around here.
