Ghost on the Coast is still The Most

By Linda Elissalde
It wasn’t a dark and stormy night, but it was chilly and windy. However, The Big Store’s annual Trunk or Treat was an astounding success. Witches, goblins, ghosts, pirates and myriad creature of the night celebrated Halloween at Ghost On The Coast. There was something for everyone. Children and grownups enjoyed games under the big tent before visiting the fun house. This was really one fun, fun house! Then it was on to that famous and frightening Spook House. BOO!

Our Crystal Beach Lions Club kept the creatures happy with their free hot dogs, chips and drinks. Even scary monsters lay down their weapons to gobble down all the food and Trick or Treat candy they could consume. Costumed folk rushed to line up for the Cake Walk because homemade culinary offerings were so delicious. It was hard to stop participation after winning just one.

Of course, Ghost On The Coast always has Halloween contests. Travis Grubbs, Cindy and L.B. Hunt stayed busy with so many entries to judge. Wicked Witch of the West Patti and Gentleman of Darkness Larry kept the Costume Contest moving along smoothly. Babies, children, teenagers and adults vied to win. Creative and imaginative minds presented artistically decorated trunks. It was hard to pick out the winners from so many great Trunk or Treat choices. Also, the pumpkin carving presentations seemed exceptional this year.
