It’s a chilly day in April

By Georgia Osten
I swear, the day after we got the new pool set up, the temperatures dropped. It’s okay, that gave the Pool Boy several days to get the PH correct and all the chemicals loaded. It also gave him time to get to town to get the right amount of salt needed to get this thing running like a salt-water pool. I got some new stuff for the pool as well. On my shopping trip Saturday, I bought another floaty thing and 3 pair of youth goggles. I’m ready, just need some youthful characters to fill said pool.

As I told you, we leveled the big garden, my gardening capabilities are null. We narrowed my tomato garden down to a 4 ft. trough. I’ve already killed 5 tomato plants. I used some 13-13-13 on it, I guess I put too much. I used some 13-13-13 on the brown spots in the yard, now they’re browner. What’s that stuff for anyway?

I’ll admit, I got used to not going into the office during that time when my boss told me I had to stay home. I managed to get a lot of work done from home, everything but payroll. I’ve gradually wormed myself back to my desk. It’s okay, we’re doused in hand sanitizer and the place is scrubbed down daily. Plus, we’re on lockdown, there’s no walk in traffic whatsoever.

Do you know, since this awful pandemic, the emergency calls are also down. I guess nobody’s out and about getting into trouble.

What an Easter, right? No one on the beach at least for a day …
I guess once word got out, everyone stayed home and away from our area. Like I said, it didn’t last long. First the barriers were shoved out of the way, then all the signs were torn off and disappeared. Maybe it couldn’t be enforced anyway.

I’m sure there are all sorts of “getting around” what is actually legal and not in cases of lock-down. I asked if bars were allowed to be open? No answer, I guess IT’S JUST NONE OF MY BUSINESS!

In the meantime, I’m about half way through a really fun puzzle and have another one equally as challenging when I’m through.

Hey, ya’ll hang in there, I think there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

Did you know that putting black plastic bags on the surface of your pool will raise the temperature of the water quicker?
