With the beginning of another school year just around the corner, the 6th Annual Bolivar Peninsula Lions Club Poker Run was a gambling success. The very popular event attracted 626 registered participants in 292 golf carts, ready to play poker to help raise money for the Crenshaw and High Island Schools. Registration began early Saturday morning at Jose’s Cajun Restaurant under rainy skies. By the time the poker run kicked off, the clouds cleared and the sun cheered everyone along. At each location along the route, the players were welcomed with open arms, food, and beverages to enjoy. And Enjoy they Did! The first stop was Tiki Beach Bar & Grill followed by the Eagles and Steve’s Landing. The carts ended at Stingaree for the final card draw, awards, and live auction. See all the Golf Carts
Awards were presented to the Best Poker Hand, Best Decorated Cart, Largest Group Participating, and Farthest Distance Traveled for the great Lions Club Poker Run. Live auction items included “Principal For A Day” at Crenshaw and High Island Schools, a handmade quilt, and Parade Marshall for the 2019 Poker Run, among other awesome items.
Thanks to all the participants and the Bolivar Peninsula Lions Club for helping our schools.

Hello,
I am working on a poker run for a local charity. I’m perplexed at how you were able to have so many players.
I can’t understand how so many of them did not crossover into each other as they went about to get their poker cards.
WE have 10 hosts in a large neighborhood. I can’t understand how we can have more than 10 teams, or they will be riding up to hosts at the same time.
So if you have a moment to explain, I would be very appreciative. Its hard to make money with 10 hosts and 10 player teams. If you can share how you do it, I would be indebted to you as will be our local charity.
