Guinald “Dino” Billiot, Sr.

billiotGuinald “Dino” Billiot, Sr., born on January 31, 1932 in Pointe-Aux-Chein, Louisiana, went home to be with Jesus on Palm Sunday, March 29th, 2015 at the age of 83 years. Dino was born to Anna Lee and Pierre Billiot in South Louisiana at Pointe-Aux-Chein (a down on the Bayou native), where he learned from his father how to become a successful oysterman, shrimper and fisherman. It wasn’t easy growing up in South Louisiana and as he grew up he learned the value of hard work and a valued learned skill. As an adult Dino moved to Crystal Beach with his wife Jane and became a life-long resident as a commercial fisherman, oysterman, and shrimper. When fishing times were tough he went to work for Galveston County so he could provide for his family. Dino also loved to paint, not commercially, but he loved to paint the house, change the color, scrape the steps, and keep them painted up nice.

Dino is survived by his loving wife Mary Jane Billiot of 45 years of marriage; Six boys – John Billiot married to Cindy; Guinald “Dino” Billiot, Jr. married to Tonja; Emile Billiot married Tonja; Orlean Billiot married to Cheri; Eugene Billiot married to Brandy; and Andrew Billiot married to Ashley. Dino was the proud grandfather of 19 grandchildren and; 4 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by; Sisters – Evelina, Leona, Carmelita and Amelia; and one brother Billy, with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Dino was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
