Christmas on the Beach

Here Comes Santa Claus…right down Santa Claus Lane. Despite the cold, blustery, and windy evening, adoring crowds showed up for the annual Crystaland Parade hosted by the Bolivar Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. Decorated floats, vehicles, and golf carts donned holiday decor to participate in the fun, and perhaps take home a trophy. Riders were wrapped in blankets to protect against the chilly winds, carolers sang their little hearts out, and everyone was jolly. The parade began at the Courthouse Annex, then proceeded down Crystal Beach Road to the beach. Big and little believers lined the beach along the route as Santa Claus and the paraders threw out candy and waved to the crowds.

The Lighthouse Krewe elves prepared hot dogs and drinks for all as they waited for the parade to end back at the Crystal Beach Fire Station. There, the children had their picture taken with Santa and the winning decorators were announced.

Pictured below are the winning floats, vehicles, and golf carts. Excellent and imaginative decorating, thanks to everyone participating.
