Jane Long Festival

JL_001Another wonderful turnout on a beautiful Saturday on the Peninsula. The 6th annual Jane Long Festival successfully honored our “Mother of Texas” at Fort Travis Seashore Park, hosted by the Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation. From delicious food, fun games, face painting, arts and crafts booths, and music…to a local honey booth, bean bag toss tournament, and a silent auction with dozens of donated items. The historical bunkers were open for tours. And leaving everyone with a smile on their face was the delightfully funny play about the life of Jane Long on Bolivar Peninsula played by all local actors. Bravo!

What a great festival. The play was wonderful!

  2. Thanks so much to all involved in the festival, but mostly to the fabulous Linda C. Elissalde! Her creative (and the tiniest bit offbeat)take on the life of our beloved Jane Long has enriched our lives immeasurably. Thanks to her for all of the joy of Pirates and Petticoats. It’s been great!

Anyone who missed this festival missed a great show, fabulous weather, the most beautiful festival site in the whole state and so much more. It’s awesome how much talent there is on the peninsula – not only on stage but in the great vendor items. The quality of booth offerings gets better and better every year. My thanks to all who helped spread the word.

Thank you for this fine coverage of our JANE LONG FESTIVAL! Your support is greatly appreciated. We also owe gratitude to our wonderful Bolivar Community.

Most of all, I thank our grand Way Off Broadway Ensemble Players for sharing their time and talents with all of us.

    Linda C. Elissalde
