Jim Christian (1949-2014)

Our dear friend has lost his battle with cancer. Those who knew Jim, family and friends, will miss that crooked smile and those deep blue-green eyes, but mostly his quick wit. Jim never met a stranger and he could charm a bumble bee. This Saturday, January 11th, @ 2pm, all will gather at “Bolivar Slam,” 1140 Waterways, for a Celebration of Life honoring Jimmy. Please plan to stop by and raise a toast to our friend.

There’s a lot that I can say, but the most important thing about Jim was that he was a good man. He loved his children and wanted the best for them. We had our first date at 16, married when I was 19 and he was 20. We shared a lot of good times and did some growing up together. Although the marriage didn’t last, a loving friendship did and I am so very thankful for that.

He was an honest man and said what he thought. You never had to wonder about what he thought (got him in trouble a few times). He had a lot of best friends that were very important to him, but brother Stevie was the best! There was such a bond between those two! I’m so happy that his last years were filled with fishing, sunsets, motorcycles and Bolivar. I am thankful for the time that he spent with Patrick and Molly. I am thankful for the kindness and goodness he always showed my daughter Kelly as well. I am thankful for Stevie and Linda Christian who met so many of his needs. He loved his Mom so much and all of his family.

Life is eternal. I know where to find Jim when it is my time. Thank you sweet Jesus for letting me know his new address and I look forward to seeing him again!

Well said Marcelle. I unfortunately only knew Jimmy for a short time but I loved him from the moment I met him. He was just that kind of guy. His witty humor, stories and straight-forward love for those around him were just a few of the things that made him so likeable. He will be greatly missed but will live forever in our hearts and memories. This is not good-bye, but see ya later on the other side.

      Marcelle,

First, condolences. Losing a friend and loved one is never easy. Second, Thank God you were in his life and he, in yours. Always always always, God has a reason. And He revealed to you what that was simply because you asked! More prayer warriors like you in this world please! Thank you for sharing your loving memories of Jimmy, and yes, he will be missed by everyone he touched, whether for a short time, or for a lifetime, therefor he certainly mattered.

      Love, Connie
