Jingle All The Way

Santa and Mrs. Claus cruised Crystal Beach on Saturday in the annual Chamber of Commerce Crystaland Parade. Beginning at the fire station, Santa and Mrs. Claus boarded their sleigh for an adventurous ride down Crystal Beach Road to the beach and beyond. Following Santa were decorated floats, vehicles, and golf carts decorated in holiday decor to participate in the fun, and perhaps take home a trophy.

Parade watchers of all ages gathered on the beach to enjoy a cold and breezy night, preferably near a roaring fire to keep warm, illuminated by the lights on the floats. The floats and vehicles threw candy and goodies to the crowds. Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with many cheerful holiday elves, traveled down the beach, then turned around and came back for another jolly round.

When the parade returned to the fire station, Santa met with all the believers, big and small, to hear about their excitement and desires for Christmas morning. The Crenshaw School youth choir added to the festivities with their presentation of all the popular Christmas carols. And, in keeping with the annual tradition, the Lighthouse Krewe served hot dogs and refreshments as Big Daddy Larry announced the parade winners and the home and business lighting contest winners as well.

The Crystaland Parade is always a holiday favorite bringing happiness to the community. Merry Christmas to All!
