Jose’s Grand Re-Opening

Jose is at it again…combining and redefining! The celebration of the Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon Cutting for Jose Cruz’s new restaurant was on February 9th. Jose closed his Mexican Restaurant at the corner of Hwy 87 and Monkhouse Drive in order to combine menus with his Steakhouse and re-open in the former Coconuts building. Renamed and re-open under the name “Jose’s Cantina-Steaks and Seafood with a Mexican Twist”…serving all the favorite Mexican plates along with the culinary seafood and steak delights, all with a Mexican Twist.

Jose has a long history on Bolivar. He’s been on the peninsula since 1986 working for Stingaree and the original Steve’s Landing. He opened his own restaurant in 2004 and after Hurricane Ike he was the chef at Coconuts when it opened. Now Jose is the proud new owner of the building. He can focus on one restaurant with the help of his family – all five daughters are working at the restaurant together. Jose’s is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Stop by and support our local favorites!
