Le Elegante!

By Cindy Clay Srader
Elegance for a Dinner Party. Sometimes it is the simple things that make your meal elegant. Just because we live and play at the beach does not mean that we need to always use paper plates and sporks. Sometimes when people come to my home they do not understand why I use ceramic plates and linen napkins. I love to make any get together an event for my friends. You do not have to spend a lot of money for dishes that you can mix and match with a beach theme. Just let your fingers do the walking on the internet! Since I enjoy collecting, or as my husband says, hoarding, when I find something I fall in love with, that is when the hunt starts. When it comes to dishes, EBay is a good place to search. Marshalls and T J Maxx are great places to “find” your special things that will complete your special beach home. Notice in the picture how the simple ribbon that is threaded through the sand dollar makes such a difference. It is just what you need to create the beach elegance for your dining!

HOW TO: Make a Photo Special

A very simple and a great project for the kids this summer. First collect seashells, special sea glass and other odds and ends. Let the kids use their special treasures. You can also put some Elmer’s glue on the frame in different areas and sprinkle some sand so that it randomly sticks. Then your work of art will be ready to add your bits and pieces of treasure. I love the sprinkling of pearls on this one and it would be beautiful to add some crystals for that little sparkle. Once again use your imagination and no two will be alike! Summer fun for all. Enjoy this beautiful weather and make wonderful memories. What a beautiful frame for those family pictures at the beach! (2014-03-04)
