Lemonade Day

The Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce announced that Lemonade Day Galveston County will take place during the entire month of July. “Lemonade stands symbolize the American dream,” said Gina M. Spagnola, president and chief executive officer of the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce. “The program empowers kids to pursue their dreams and goals—and with achievement comes freedom and independence. And there’s no better way to celebrate freedom and independence than with lemonade stands on the fourth of July.”

Lemonade Day is typically held the first Saturday in May, but until the COVID-19 pandemic subsides, Lemonade Day Galveston County will continue to offer Lemonade Day My Way, a model created in 2020 by Lemonade Day National.

Lemonade Day My Way provides kids with creative, fun and safe ways to host a physical lemonade stand or virtual one to earn money. Virtual lemonade stand options include: selling online with lemonade product delivery following safety guidelines, or selling virtual products like lemonade recipes or virtual sips.

Lemonade Day My Way offers a list of kid-friendly business ventures that can be launched instead of a traditional lemonade stand. Lemonade Day suggests kids take the challenge of this real-world scenario to adapt their business model. These ideas include creating a fundraising campaign with a business partner such as a fitness center, dog groomer, or hair or nail salon; walking dogs or pet sitting; mowing lawns and cleaning flower beds; holding a car wash with lemon-scented car fresheners; and launching a Facebook fundraiser.

Youth must officially register in the Lemonade Day Galveston County program to receive a backpack, workbook and t-shirt. For more information, contact the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce at (409) 763-5326 or by email at [email protected], or visit the website at
