Lydia Spirko created the winning design for the Bolivar Peninsula Lighthouse Krewe’s artwork contest for the 2020 Mardi Gras theme. The new design is featured on the “official” Mardi Gras t-shirt. The theme is “30 Years of Beaches & Beads” and will be celebrated on February 22, 2020 when Bolivar will enjoy the 30th annual parade. The parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Avocet subdivision and will travel east on Hwy 87 and terminate at Gregory Park.
Lydia was awarded a check in the amount of $100 and a t-shirt bearing her design. Design entries are voted on by Krewe members at the annual June social.

The t-shirts are now on sale every Saturday and Sunday at the Big Store between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
