Linda Elissalde, Person of the Year 2019

By Elaine Rollfing
“Serve the Lord with gladness!” Psalm 100:2
This month, Bay Vue United Methodist Church announced that Linda Elissalde was voted in as the Bay Vue Person of the Year 2019. She is creative and has the sunniest personality, and she serves to encourage so many of us! She always brings drama, but it’s the good kind.

Linda uses her gifts and talents to gather people together to tell the stories of scripture and lessons in worship, such as the Good Friday Service and Christmas Eve. She writes new stories about what is happening at Bay Vue and gets them published so the community will know Bay Vue United Methodist Church better.

Linda is known in Crystal Beach for being our script writer for all our Way Off Broadway Productions. She sings in the choir with a lovely voice, assists in changing our church sign, leads our volunteers with our annual Fish Fry, and is always there to help when needed. If there is anything going on, there’s Linda taking notes and pictures for her next article.

Linda makes us smile and we’re so thankful for all she does at Bay Vue UMC. Congratulations, Linda, for being named Bay Vue’s Person of the Year 2019.

The phase ‘insanely jealous’ doesn’t even begin to describe my reaction to Linda’s creative lyrics, scripts, poems, etc., especially when they incorporate humor. She is indeed a treasure in every sense of the word. So glad she (and oh-so-huggable Marcel!) are based on Bolivar.
