On June 22nd, we crossed the pond to visit Dianne and Chris, and for the first time, to meet his parents, sister and nephew. This was the day before RR’s 75th Birthday, so there were celebrations too. Now, my understanding this was just for us, so when our second born called and her dad told her about this upcoming luncheon, I informed her this was not for family, just parents. Well, that is what I was told, I thought. Anyway, off we go.
About 30 minutes after we arrived, the door bell rang, Rene and Jason, and Aunt Vickie were there, of course, my big mouth said what are ya’ll doing here? My youngest said, Mom, we were invited! At that point, being a little embarrassed, I hugged everyone and let them through the doorway. Oh Lord, sometimes stupidity abounds.
Marie and Dwight are the nicest people and about our age. We so enjoyed chatting about our children.
After lunch, we continued to set at the dining table when the children cleaned the kitchen and dishes. Is this the good part of “old age?” It took a little longer than we thought to meet, but what a wonderful time all of us had. Thank You, Dianne & Chris
Oh Oh, I forgot to say what a great meal and delicious dessert.
