Out With the Old…Water

The Bolivar Peninsula Special Utility District is commissioning a new water tank for the community. The existing tank was commissioned in 1970 and after so many years in service, it is in need of major repairs. Therefore a new tank with a capacity of 1,000,000 gallons will replace the old tank’s capacity of 250,000 gallons. The existing tank will take at least five days to dismantle, if the weather cooperates. The new tank is scheduled to be completed in July 2022. Former General Manager Jo Ball had been working on this project for over two years. The funding for dismantling the old tank and constructing the new tank is covered by a GLO grant which is managed by Galveston County. There are no costs to the District for this project. Out with the old and in with the new…water!
