Patience

Patience – A Noun. Definition: the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious. Silly me, I thought after last Wednesday most of the U.S. would go back to normal or at least be quiet for a day or two. I really am old! But having said that, having been a teen and early twenties in the 60′ & 70’s, I should have known better. Thank goodness our parents were as patient as they were, or did they slap us into shape and say deal with it! I don’t remember all this going on eight years ago, do you?

Remember many of our friends in college headed to Canada to avoid the draft? We protested everything “WE” could think of and there were riots all over the US and cities were burned. I was trying to follow my own words this morning, as I tried to reach the ferry to make it to church on time. I have tried to repeat this word many times this week – “patience.”

I’m trying! It doesn’t matter to me who you voted for, you are still my friend. So many friendships have been damaged during the past year – this worries me. That person you have totally disagreed with, go back and give them a hug, even it they don’t want it. You will feel better and be a better person for it.

Remember, Patience.
Peace and Love
