Pet lovers – you’re going to love this

GO_0609I have the ultimate pet sitter(s) and they’re located less than two miles away from my house. We don’t leave very often, but there are sometimes when you just can’t bring your dog with you. They began taking care of Maezy when she was only a little over a month old, way before she was even potty trained. The ideal sitters, they would actually come over to my house to spend the night with her so she would get to sleep in her own bed and stay in her own surroundings. From time to time, they would take Maezy over to their house, where they already have 4 dogs. She made quick friends with their pets, even the wretched canine who doesn’t like anybody!

Nowadays, when we have to leave her at home, they will immediately come pick her up at the house and take her over to her “home away from home.” I always get a progress report in the form of a picture of Maezy sleeping on one of their beds or a picture of Maezy swimming in their pool with her most favorite friend, a big black lab named Max.

The other day, when we went to pick her up after our night out of town, we put the leash on her and had her outside the fence ready to go get in the car. She made it clear she did not want to leave, jumping up on the fence demanding to go back inside. C’mon Maezy, you’re stuck with us again…

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you.
