Pirates and Mermaids Mardi Gras 2021

Join the fun on February 13 for the 2021 Mardi Gras Parade sponsored by the Bolivar Peninsula Lighthouse Krewe. The “Pirates and Mermaids” themed parade begins at 11:30 am in the Avocet Subdivision across from Lazy D&D RV Park. The floats will travel east on Hwy 87 to conclude at Gregory Park. Come out and see the many styles and designs of the floats, the vehicles, and the golf carts, too.

Spectators line both sides of the highway to cheer on the paraders and catch some beads. The parade has never missed a beat, even after Hurricane Ike, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever. You will not want to miss it! If you want to enter your golf cart, float, or vehicle in the Parade, the deadline for entry is NO LATER than February 1st. No late entries will be accepted. Please fill out the form and either mail in or drop off locally at Swedes Real Estate in Crystal Beach.

I was really surprised to hear the Mardi Gras celebration has not been cancelled. Has no one in Crystal Beach heard of Covid-19. Talk about inviting a ” Super Spreader ” to Bolivar. Very poor judgement by those who should know better. Over 330,000 have died in the U.S. Almost 10% of that amount have died right here in Texas. These are not just numbers …..they are your neighbors

Not just a parade. I see a lot of chances for it to be spread around here.

I am a 70 yr old man who just had covid flu. Have 2 underlying conditions. Came through with zero issues. Would rather enjoy life than hide like a roach…
