Poker Run Fun

The 7th Annual Bolivar Peninsula Lions Club Poker Run went cruisin’ by on Saturday under a beautiful Texas summer sky. The weather was hot and the carts, participants, and supporters were out in full force. The golf cart entries exceeded 230 with well over 500 poker players registered. Decorated golf carts gathered at Jose’s by 8 am to check in and receive their first card towards the winning hand. They departed at 10 am to head down the beach and parade toward the next card at Tiki Beach Bar & Grill, the Eagles, Steve’s Landing, and finally Stingaree.

The Lions Club auctioned many donated items along with announcing the winning poker hands, all in support of our schools. All funds raised are donated to Crenshaw School and High Island School for this upcoming year’s school supplies. Trophies were awarded to Best Decorated Golf Carts, Largest Group, Farthest Traveler…and winning Poker Hands. See all the Carts.

A BIG THANKS to the Lions Club for another great event, raising thousands of dollars to purchase school supplies for local kids
