PSP gets the big hit

The Peninsula Sports Park fundraiser on Saturday night at the stately Laguna Harbor sales center was a huge success with community-wide participation and support. The event, sponsored by Drs. Ron and Lillian Abbott, raised over $9,000 to help support Little League baseball on Bolivar. Juicy Lucy BBQ donated and prepared the entire meal, and all items for the silent auction and live auction were donated by numerous loyal patrons. Joe Oyler with Freedom Electric lit up the grounds with colorful lighting, and Janie Mayfield provided the docorations.

After dinner, partygoers danced to the music of Haley Comeaux and DJ Rafael Zepada, and placed their bids on the numerous silent auction items. Leslie Lowe proved to be a very capable auctioneer as she kicked off the live auction and sold the many unique items. She also gave a big thanks to all the individuals and businesses who donated the gifts for the auctions and raffle, and to Brad Ballard for the use of the wonderful facility.

The funds raised will help Peninsula Sports Park add lighting to the field so night baseball can be played.
