Putt Putt for the Ladies

The Bolivar Peninsula Chamber of Commerce hosted the First Annual Ladies Putt Putt Extravaganza at The Gulf Range in Crystal Beach. The inaugural event welcomed 52 lady golfers with all proceeds going to the Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund. The festivities began on Friday night with a blind draw to choose the teams. The Calcutta followed with bidders hoping to select the winning team. Saturday morning opened up with beautiful skies for the 10 am start time. Families, friends, and putt-putt enthusiasts watched as the ladies teed off. Cheers were heard all over the course as several Holes-In-One were sunk. Unfortunately though, nobody made a Hole-In-One on #15, the Prize Hole. As the golfers putted away, the Gulf Range provided live music to add to the fun.

After an ‘extravaganza’ morning of golf, the scorecards were tallied with the winning teams selected by a Best Ball format, using the team’s low score per hole. In addition, the golfer with the lowest score among all players was awarded a cash prize. Thank you to the Chamber of Commerce for another great community event. Special thanks to the generous sponsors, accomplished golfers, and enthusiastic supporters. We look forward to next year.
