Rejoice!

By Georgia Osten
I’m really looking forward to this week – it’s going to be a short one! Friday is Good Friday and it’s a Holiday over at ESD. Even though this week is a “monthly meeting week,” I’ll be doubly glad to get it over with. “Meeting weeks” generally drive me crazy. Even though I’ve been there one year and 4 days, I get stressed thinking of all I need to prepare. Not only do I have to load everything onto DropBox pertaining to the meeting, the Agenda, the minutes from the last meeting, any documentation to be discussed at the meeting, and so on. But I have to follow along with the conversation and scroll along so everyone can see what we’re talking about on the screen. Inevitably, I’ll forget something, or someone will ask me to go back to the last meeting to find something we discussed, or ask me a question like “what was the budgeted amount for ice cream this year – something bizarre like that.

I’m super excited for Saturday, I’ve planned a trip to Veritas on Chimney Rock in Houston. It’s where I go when we’re expecting a First Communion. Our #2 Grandson, Michael, will have his First Communion in North Carolina. This means a road trip for me, PawPaw and Maezy. My last trip to Veritas was a bit costly, I spent a few hours there. That’s where St. Francis came from. He’s been living in my garden for 6 years now. The fellow who works there gave me plenty of tips for gifts for a boy for First Communion, I super excited.

I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Easter. Enjoy your ham and potato salad, but remember the real reason – Christ rose from the dead to save us, we are his children, Rejoice!

GO’s Sand Bucket is only one beach bum’s journal of life at the beach, probably something each of you can relate to. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts, visions and/or feelings of just exactly what the beach means to you. Email: [email protected]
