Safety is Key

Another advancement in water safety and rescue is underway. The Galveston County ESD#2 purchased a new water rescue boat. This red pontoon boat can launch easily into the surf. An inflatable keel allows the boat to be used in rough seas. The boat can hold a crew of two and up to eight rescues. This rescue craft will be stationed in Port Bolivar VFD, similar to the rescue boat stationed at the Crystal Beach VFD. Training for the rescue personnel will be held in the coming weeks. Thank you for your dedication to the safety of our community.
